NILD

National Institute of Learning Development

Since 1997, Summit Christian Academy has offered NILD Educational Therapy to students who struggle to learn. Our therapists, trained and certified by the National Institute for Learning Development, provide one-on-one therapy to students in order to strengthen perceptual and cognitive skills that are essential to learning. When these weak areas are strengthened, students are better able to learn and process efficiently.

Summit also provides NILD therapy to students from other Christian schools as well as to home-schooled students and students who attend public schools.

"If we see a new and mysterious machine, I think that the first question we ask is, “What is that machine for?” and afterwards we ask, “How does it do it?” But the moment we ask about the purpose of anything, we may be involving ourselves in asking about the purpose of everything. If we define education, we are committed to the question, “What is man for?” Every definition of the purpose of education, therefore, implies some concealed, or rather implicit, philosophy or theology. " --T.S. Eliot
