Brian Mouring 1990 - 2010"The Summit family has suffered a great loss with the passing of Brian Mouring on August 18, 2010. Brian, Class of '09 was a great student, excellent athlete, but most of all is remembered for bringing joy to all he met. His family is an integral part of Summit. His mother Kim is our receptionist. His dad Chris is our Varsity Basketball coach and his brothers Matt and Phil are students at the Upper School. His sister, Rachel graduated from Denbigh Baptist and Liberty University. Brian's death will leave a void in the hearts of all that knew him, yet even in our incredible sorrow we can rejoice that Brian recently came to a personal relationship with Christ and he is now with his Lord and Savior. We have seen the hand of God at work in this tragic situation. As we strive to deal with our great loss and heavy hearts, our prayer is "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Please visit the link to his obituary.
A memorial service for Brian Mouring is scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. Moon Fasting to # 20 --DAY 8 -- We need to move up so he can eat!!!Dear Summit families,
I began fasting yesterday and I will continue to fast until Summit breaks the top 20 in the Kohl's Care contest. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we have to dedicate every thing we can to seeing it through. I need your help. I am asking each family to dedicate 2 hours a day helping us get out the vote. I have spent two hours a day calling or chatting with my friends on facebook. I am asking that each families combined efforts equal what I am doing on my own. The efforts of Anita and the kids are in addition to that. I will continue to do this 2 hours a day until we have secured this prize.
Please join with me in this effort. I need you to vote and get your friends to vote. Go to: vote4sca.com log in to your facebook and vote. If you don't have a facebook that is all right. You don't need to get one to help. Many of your friends do have a facebook account already so please call and ask them to help your kid's school. Personal contact with your friends is the key to making this work. Blanket emails are ineffective but 100% of the people that I personally talk to or chat with agree to vote. We are currently at number 26 and going up.
Also remember, we have partnered with Life Center Academy in New Jersey and Lucas Christian Academy in Texas and they are getting their friends to vote for us so please vote for them too. Everyone has 20 votes and can vote for each school 5 times.

We have moved up to #24! We are asking every family to pick up the phone, hit your Facebook Chat, and get 5 people PER DAY to vote for us.Summit is currently #24, we are moving up with parent's and our partners school's help! We are just 8000 votes (1600 people voting) away from the Top 20. We don't have to be in 1st place to win $500,000, we just need to be in the Top 20. We are the only school in Southeastern Virginia in the Top 100 schools and we are 1 of only 3 Christian schools in the TOP 30.
We can't WIN this alone, even with all parents and students voting. We need your help in spreading the word to your church, friends, family, neighbors, work, home groups, book clubs...EVERYWHERE!
